Carson Elementary
Report Card Procedures—Fall ‘09
November 19, 2009
General Information
- Directions and a short video (7 minutes) are available at https://documentation.puyallup.k12.wa.us.
(1) Open the “Teacher Access Center” folder.”
(2) Then open the folder “Elementary.” In this folder are several documents and the video.
Reminders
- no use of the plus first trimester…just the numeric score. (yes, the online report card sample does have a +, but it’s not a good example).
- Written comments are still required. The numeric (canned) comments are voluntary.
- You can use Word to write your comments then cut and paste them in, but keep your font and formatting simple; this includes not bulleting, italicizing, etc.
Printing and Review Process
- Complete your report cards in eSchoolPLUS.
- When satisfied, let Karen know and she will format them into a pdf file.
- Karen will place them into a shared folder in the GROUPS/Teachers folder for your review. If you need to make any changes, you will have to go back into eSchoolPLUS. The pdf is a read only file.
- Once satisfied with your edits and changes, let Karen know and she will update the pdf for review by either Miles or Arturo (same person who is your evaluator this year). Please let Miles or Arturo know when you are ready for this final edit.
- Miles or Arturo will email you your pdf file with comments and/or recommended changes. Let Karen know when you have finalized the changes and she will print a set of report cards for you using the office printer for better quality! DO NOT print report cards yourself.
AR Comments
Due to the fact that A.R. will now only be identified in the comment section, at our Nov. 13th PACK leadership meeting it was agreed that coming up with a common phrase for the report card would be beneficial. This is an optional comment, you are more than welcome to come up with your own. Happy report carding...
Examples:
- Way to go, keep up the good work!
- I know that ____ can do better than this if he/she….
- I would encourage ___ to focus on accuracy this next trimester rather than points.
- I would encourage ___ to chose a “good fit book” within his/her reading level.
- If ___ started reading earlier in the trimester to accomplish his/her reading goal, I know he/she could attain his/her goal.
